Puppy Kindergarten

got puppy?    get training!

got milk... get it?

Each year the number of dogs that lose their homes and lives because of behavior problems is greater than the number of dogs that die from all infectious diseases combined!  The good news is that most behavior problems can be prevented when you learn how to raise and train your puppy using modern, effective methods.

Puppies learn best when training begins before the age of 16 weeks.  Raise your puppy right and stop those nasty puppy problems before they begin.  In our puppy classes you will learn effective, puppy-friendly training techniques that even the kids can use.

This class is fun and fast-paced!  During your 6-week class, you will learn effective techniques to teach your puppy numerous behaviors such as attention, sit, down, stand, stay, come from distractions, drop-it, off, and how to walk on leash without pulling.  Challenging puppy behaviors such as nipping/mouthing and jumping up will also be covered.  We will even teach you a few tricks!  Puppy playtime will be incorporated into class each week.

Puppies must be between 8 and 16 weeks at the start of class and be current on vaccinations (distemper/parvo and bordetella).  Maximum of 8 puppies per class.  A training handbook is included.

Cost: $120

Upcoming Class:
Fridays, March 3-April 7, 7:30-8:30 pm

Our instructors

Our instructors are the best around!  They are all veterinary professionals at our hospital and they have attained Certifications in Pet Dog Training through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.  This certification is held by fewer than 500 people in the entire United States.  It is only given to those people that have a significant level of experience, a commitment to continuing education in the field of animal training and behavior, and those people that are able to pass a stringent exam.  For more details about the certification, visit the APDT by clicking the link above.

Location
All classes will be held at Care Animal Hospital, 8044 Kipling St, Arvada, CO.  Holding classes at our hospital allows you to train around real-life distractions and helps your puppy learn to enjoy coming to the veterinarian which means less stress for you and your puppy for years to come.
