Behavior and Training

We CARE about behavior...

The Care Philosophy

At Care Animal Hospital, good behavior and good health go together!  In addition to quality medical care, we offer the finest behavior and training services for all stages of your pet's life.  Let us help you create a well-behaved companion that your family will enjoy for years to come.

Pet Selection

Animals, like people, have unique traits and most behavior problems are rooted in pet-owner mismatch.  Discover what species, breed, sex, and age of pet is best suited for your personality and lifestyle, as well as how to locate and select your ideal pet.

Behavior Problems

Behaviors such as aggression, fear, and separation anxiety do not get better on their own.  These problems are complicated and may have many contributing factors that my include medical illness.  That is why a behavior consultation with a veterinarian who has additional education in animal behavior and training is your pet's best chance for success.

Dr. Joyce Clark has completed the North American Veterinary Post-Graduate Institute's course in Applied Clinical Behavior.  She also is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and has years of training experience working with shelter animals, newly adopted dogs and cats of all ages, and has even worked with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to train several orphan mountain lion cubs.

During your behavior consultation with Dr. Clark, she will take a detailed history of your pet's current problems, determine your family's needs and goals, and then will customize a diagnostic plan and a treatment program specifically for you and your pet.

Behavior FactPuppy and Kitten Kindergarten

Puppies and kittens have critical learning periods that end before they are 3-4 months of age.  Early puppy and kitten training classes are specifically designed to capitalize on this crucial developmental time.

Our instructors are uniquely qualified;  they hold certifications in pet training and are also experienced in the veterinary field.  They attend continuing education courses in both areas, so you are sure to receive the most current information.

Training Supplies
