Dental Care

Care Animal Hospital believes in complete health care for your animal companions. At each wellness exam, your pet's doctor will assess his or her dental care.
Can you imagine not having brushed your teeth for several years? Many of our pets have never had toothbrushing performed, so they have a distinctive mouth odor, tartar, gingivitis, or periodontal disease. When dental infection progresses to periodontal disease, the ligament that holds the tooth in place can become compromised and the animal can lose the tooth. If infection continues, the jaw bone itself can be compromised. As if this weren't problematic enough, continued infection in the mouth ends up in the bloodstream and can affect your pet's internal organs. This is the reason that humans get dental cleanings every six months!
We are skilled in advanced dental surgical procedures and carry a variety of dental care products. We are happy to give you a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste kit to get you started on good dental care at home--just ask us!
