Dr. Paige Garnett

Dr. Paige Garnett was born and raised in Colorado before graduating from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After working at another small animal hospital for four years, she and her husband, Walt, opened Care Animal Hospital in 1988. Over the years, the practice tripled in size and four more doctors and many more team members joined the hospital to help make it what it is today. Her biggest veterinary accomplishments were certification by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in canine and feline medicine and surgery, and leading Care Animal Hospital in becoming certified “Gold Standard Cat Friendly” by the American Association of Feline Practitioners, which required extensive work in the hospital to create a warm and safe atmosphere for cats. Her areas of high interest include canine and feline medical and dental care. She admits to loving “anything cat”, owning Randolph Dupree, Bode and Osbourne Cox, and fostering kittens frequently for Lucky Paws Rescue. The “Garnett menagerie” also includes Sydney, a 9 year old female mix-breed dog (Springer Spaniel, Cattle Dog and Samoyed), who was adopted from Foothills Animal Shelter, Benson, a 20 year old Mini-Macaw, and Slider, an aquatic turtle. When not working with animals, she enjoys playing the clarinet and throwing pots at the Arvada Center. Team Dog Tire’d, the bicycle team started by Dr. Garnett and 2 other veterinarians, has participated in the MS 150 or Courage Classic long-distance charity rides every summer for the last 22 years.
