Tracie Grubb, Exam Room Assistant and
Client Care Manager
 |
I
joined the CAH staff in April, 1999. A corporate lay-off from my
previous job enabled me to pursue my real dream of becoming a
veterinarian. Who knew it would take me 4 years just to get accepted
into a prep program! The good news is that after the upcoming school
year, I will be guaranteed a spot in the Professional Veterinary Program
at Colorado State University! |
Since joining CAH, I have been fortunate
to work alongside a tremendous group of talented individuals. This is a
setting unlike any I've experienced in terms of teamwork, dedication, and
friendship. Though I'm thrilled to be able to start school in the fall, I
dread the day I leave the place that has come to mean so much to me. I
hope to continue working at CAH during breaks and in the summers.
My responsibilities at Care have involved
everything from technician duties, exam room assistant, and client care
manager. Each position offers something unique and challenging. In
any role, the opportunity to work with wonderful furry companions and their
owners is priceless.
| My
husband, Colin, is my primary support system. He has encouraged me
to follow my dream. I don't think he realized it would take quite
this long, but he's hanging in there. Here is a picture of Colin
with our French Bulldog, Chloe, the little princess. |

Chloe
is 4 years old. When she was 2 years of age, she was diagnosed with
a rare inflammatory disease of the brain and spinal cord called
Granulomatous Meningoencephalitis (GME). Most dogs succomb to the
disease in approximately 8 months, but Chloe is a stubborn little pup and
has defied the odds. Many thanks to our wonderful doctors at CAH and
CSU for keeping our girl with us. |
| Clara
is the freak-of-nature in the family- pug and cattle dog mix. Who
would've thought?! She is 3 years old, afraid of aluminum foil,
refuses to let anyone trim her toenails, and has an overly small head and
over-sized posterior. In spite of it all, she's an absolute dear and
loves her mom more than anyone. But, even I can't trim her toenails! |

Glory
is the youngest addition. She is a 2-year-old tortie. Her mama
was found giving birth in the street when one of our clients found
them. I was looking for a male orange tabby, and look what I fell in
love with! She weighed less than half a pound when I brought her
home and fit in the palm of my hand with room to spare. Since then
she has grown into an 8-pound beautiful darling sweetie pie! |
I look forward to returning to CAH in
about 5 years and asking Dr. Garnett for work. Only this time, I will be
asking as a doctor!
