Surgery at Care Animal Hospital
We treat all patients like they are our own pets! We utilize certified veterinary technicians (or CVTs) to monitor your pet's anesthesia continuously, and our doctors attend continuing education seminars to stay abreast of the latest anesthetic options for our patients.
When you book an appointment for surgery, we will make sure that your pet has had recent blood work. This allows us to check organ function and to ensure that there are no sources of active infection in the body. Based on your pet's lab results and exam history, your doctor will discuss any relevant anesthetic risks with you prior to the procedure day.
When your pet is admitted to the hospital, a dedicated CVT will go over the procedure, consent form, and any questions you might have. After procedures are complete, we will call and let you know when your pet is recovering from surgery. For most procedures, we will schedule a dismissal time with you the same day.
