Dr. Hughson is a Colorado native and proud of it!  Her love of animals started early. Growing up with Golden Retrievers, she was perpetually covered in fur and slobbery kisses. Her family fostered puppies from the local animal rescue and she volunteered there throughout college, which nurtured her love for veterinary medicine. 

She stayed in CO for her undergraduate degree at the University of Denver, and traveled to Kansas State University for her veterinary degree. She began practicing small animal medicine as soon as possible after graduating in 2013!  

Her love lies in forming great connections with her clients and helping their pets throughout their young years and their geriatric ones. She also has a passion for preventative medicine and dentistry.

Dr. Hughson spends most of her free time with her family, including her two young girls and their black lab Zig Zag.  He is a very silly boy who loves camping and hiking with his family.

She is excited to be part of the Care Animal Hospital team so she can continue improving the lives of all the cats and dogs that come her way.
